About LOFOF

Protecting the places that make the New Forest special

Look Out For Our Forest is a campaign supported by New Forest District Council to inspire pride in the places that shape everyday life across the New Forest, from its towns and villages to its coastland, green spaces, neighbourhoods and National Park landscapes.

LOFOF began by tackling litter and encouraging people to take greater care of the places they live in, travel through and enjoy. Today, the campaign also reflects wider environmental challenges facing the area, including sustainability and climate, recognising that the future of the New Forest is shaped by the choices we make every day.

A shared responsibility

At the heart of LOFOF is a simple belief: we all have a part to play in caring for the New Forest.

The places we value most are shaped by everyday actions. Small choices, made by many people, can make a lasting difference. Whether it is taking litter home, respecting wildlife, caring for shared spaces or making more sustainable choices, every action helps protect what makes this area unique.

Be a Forest Guardian

Anyone can be a Forest Guardian.

Being a Forest Guardian means choosing to look out for the New Forest through simple, positive actions. It is about showing care for the places around us, setting a positive example and helping build a culture where protecting this special area feels like something we all do, together.

Looking out for the future

LOFOF brings people together around that shared responsibility, helping create cleaner, greener and more connected communities for today and for the future.

When we look out for our forest, we look out for each other too.
